A pattern based on the modular repetition of square rhomboids forms the front of this tent pillow. As with many other examples from the Beni M'guild territory, the dominant colours are deep red, white and black, with the addition of blue, green and orange. A herringbone pattern frames the sides. Six little colourful pom poms are attached at the edges of the piece (they are not always present on vintage cushion covers as they tend to detach with use).
In our opinion, the back is the strongest feature of this piece, with its striking simplicity. At the top, a little continuation of the front pattern contrasts with a rectangular block of intense red that occupies about one-fifth of the space. The rest of the weave is of a deeper, more earthly red that balances the intensity of the top two layers. The white herringbone that was merely a frame on the front, becomes here the main structure of the composition.
It comes either unstuffed/unsewn or stuffed with natural pillow fibre.
