This is an unusually petite Beni M’Guild carpet with a classic geometric pattern, which is more commonly used in the region than Azilal or Boujad carpets for instance.
A net of lozenges gives structure to the composition, where smaller square and diamond motifs are found within. A good amount of wear has made some of the patterns disappear and merge into the faded gradients of purples, pinks, reds, browns, and a sprinkling of small blue lines and dots gives the composition a sense of depth and contrast.
This is a rare piece that could be used as a wall piece or in a very low traffic area as it is particularly delicate.
