A myriad of colourful lozenges of different sizes is composed alongside free-form patterns to animate an earthly pile.
The weaver used three different materials that speak of the rich history of Moroccan carpet-making to create a complex balance between colours and textures: the woolen grey pile, made of hands-spun, local wool provides comfort and grounding to the eye; the industrial yarns, with their bright colours and finer fibers, elicit energy. Finally, the recycled fabrics used for the wefts remind us how resourceful these weavers are. Here, no fabric shall be put to waste.
The carpet is clearly a portion of a larger piece. It is not uncommon for carpets to be divided among family members or cut off due to excessive wear.
In good condition, with areas of more intense wear.
