Centred on large diamond shapes, this is a bold, almost electric, rendition of a rug typical of Azilal. Although weavers do not use symbols and motifs in a straightforward, iconographical manner, it is undeniable that the motifs in some of these weaves do hold an inexplicable power: the result of the reworking of ancestral traditions developed over the centuries. In this case, the colourful rhomboids expand towards the edges of the piece and beyond, as if its force could not be contained.
In very good condition, with slight fraying at one of the corners.
